Fruitlands Museum- Harvard
Visiting this museum was definitely a different experience than the other two museums. The reason this one was so different was because of the time difference of all the art work that was on display. There were so many different forms of work such as, paintings, drawings, sculptures, actual artifacts and some photography. The atmosphere was the most memorable for me though. At this museum it is all old houses that were turned into museums for people to look through. It is the plantation where Louisa May Alcott first came with her family. It was so historical while at the same time amazing to look at all of the work that was on display.
This painting was among many that were in the "Amongst the Birches" display with all paintings and drawings created by Marie Spaeth. This was a neat display because she mad many pictures of her children and their life. It truly showed how their lives where like and what it meant to live in the late 1800 and early 1900.
Another Collection that was on display was the artifacts and pieces of art from different Native American tribes through America. They are the official artifacts that were actually used by these people. The reason this inspired me so much is just like the first one, it truly showed how life was for all of these people and how much of a struggle it was. It really makes me appreciate my life and the blessings I have in my life today in Modern America.
